Blackbeard Terrorized,, And Looted Cargo On The Caribbean.
Blackbeard was one bad dude.If you have kids or grandkids at some point they will become fascinated by pirates, and sooner or later it will turn to Edward Thatch. Our grandson was about six when he wanted to know all he could about him.
There is quite a lot of information on Thatch.Find your little ones something that will enlighten them on Blackbeard,or even a game. There;s nothing like that"thanks Mom or Granny"when you let them know how much you love them.
You Can Find Movies,Dvds,And Much More On Blackbeard In Here.
You can also buy books, movies, and much more to enlighten your knowledge about Blackbeard(Edward Thatch). If you ever go to Ocracoke, do you think about him? At one time he lived there. This is said to be the place where he lived.
During the early eighteenth century, for about ten years the Caribbean was terrorized by quite a few pirates. They pretty much did as they pleased. They seized ships and cargo at will.
But of all the thieves, few were more fearsome than Edward Thatch, the cruel villain known as Blackbeard. It,s not known who gave him his nickname, but he was bold, daring, and wicked.
It is said that he had a remarkable black, ugly beard. He would twist it with ribbons in small tails, after the manner of our Ramillies wigs.
And when he was robbing a ship,he wore a sling over his shoulders, with three pistols hanging in holsters. He also put lighted matches under his hat,on each side of his face, which made him look fierce and wild.(He was not only mean,he was crazy, don,t you think)?
For me I always think of the Outer Banks, and Ocracoke, when I think of him.
He was not an educated man,but he had a energy and ambition to learn to read and write.Nevertheless he had a love of excess(he is said to have had fourteen wives).Maybe that is what was wrong with him, they all liked to shop.(Just kidding)
Many of his wife,s suffered an ordeal from which they never recovered.
The most remarkable thing is that he embarked on a career as a honest sailer, from his home in England, and even served his country during Queen Anne,s war.Near the end of the war he got his first taste of piracy.
By 1712 his infamy as the scourage of the Atlantic Coast was widespread. He found all of the coves, and shallow inlets of the Outer Banks. That was the perfect place to base his operations.
Even though the site of his house is only accessible by water, many people have visited it on many occasions, since his death. They say he buried gold there.
This kind of takes the cake, what do you think? He married a girl of sixteen, and he actualy performed his own ceremony. And she had no idea that she was his fourteenth wife.
Little did she know that her husband had other wife,s and homes at Elizabeth city,Edenton,Ocracoke, and Beaufort among other places. It wasn,t long though that he tired of the small time piracy.
He was used to the good style of living. And that required large sums of money. So he recruited former members of his crew, got his ship the Adventure sea worthy, and that was the begining of the end for him.
He led some kind of life.I hope that the information you find in here will be helpful. There are a lot of items and info about this man.Did you know they even have a Inn in Ocracoke named after him? That would be a great place to stay if you ever visited there.Do you think his boat looked this?
