We book all our hotel stays online,although you can check the web,and then call and book your room. We have stayed in the Nags Head Inn before and it is a great place.Also the Comfort Inn South Oceanfront is another of your hotels in Nags Head.It is above and the Nags Head Inn is below.They are Oceanfront. 
Also the Travelers Oceanside Inn.Also the Colonal Inn Motel,and it has some great reviews from Trip Advisor.If you have your heart set on spending your vacation in Nags Head,you don't have many hotels to choose from.
But as I said on another page,we park our cans in Kill Devil Hills,and I think part of me is in Nags Head.The two towns are side by side.And the good news is that they have quite a few more hotels than Nags head.I have never looked at my watch,but traveling through both towns doesn't take over 15 minutes. The best part about spending your vacation in Nags Head or Kill Devil Hills is that you are within walking distance of anything you need. We walk to the stores sometimes instead of driving.Gives us some exercise to.The beach is great in this area,or you can take a walk through the Nature Conservancy's Nags Head Woods Ecological Preserve,or dance the night away at a beachside tavern. This Outer Banks town remains one of the areas most popular resorts.The Nags Head hotels are close to many attractions.Some are the Bodie Lighthouse"below",the Aquarium in Roanoke Island,and more than I can list.If you are lucky you may see Andy Griffith.His house is in Manteo.
You are also beside the piers.We fish the Nags Head pier,and the Outer Banks pier a lot.I'm taking my Grandson fishing now,so there is not much fishing for me.(But that's ok,I wouldn't trade it for anything).
There are hotels in Nags Head,restaurants,piers,and many luxurious vacation homes,and small cottages lining Nags Head oceanfront,which remains predominantly vacation oriented. The sound shores are filled with private cottages,but there is one portion of lower Nags Head that features water sports outfitters,go-kart tracks,and mini golf galore.(The Grandson loves this). For myself,I enjoy the hotels .You have a nice pool,don't have to clean your room,(my wife can't make me do that in Nags Head)and you have many outlet stores close by,and also grocery stores. The hotels in Nags Head,are close to many art gallories.And one restaurant to remember is the Owens.They have been a Nags Head landmark for 50 years. Nags Head is a favorite destination for many.It is located in the center of attractions.In just a few minutes you can see many of the attractions that draw so many to the Outer Banks each year. And my final word,(didn't think I would end did you)?please book two or three months ahead.Summer is busy.Find your hotel in Nags Head early.
