The Outer Banks is composed of quite a few motels.A Kill Devil Hills motel would be in the middle of attractions,and many stores to shop for all you shopaholics."My Daughter".But we love it.Even at its busiest,Outer Banks is nothing like some of the other beaches.From what I have seen in all our years of vacationing there,it's pretty quiet and peaceful. Before I get started on giving you a motel to look at,I want to tell you a story,won't take to long. About five years ago we were staying in a Kill Devil Hills motel.We had been out shopping and came back in the middle of the day to leave our "good stuff we had found"in our room.My wife went in the bathroom,and my Grandson(6)and I were outside,when we heard her calling for help.We ran in the bathroom,and found that she was sitting on the edge of the tub,and for some reason she slid backward in to the tub,and couldn't get out.What a sight,we had to grab her by the arms and pull her out.She didn't know why we found it so funny.The little one found it funny to see Granny stuck in a bath tub.
. The Blue Heron Motel is a few miles pass Kill Devil Hills,but they are considered one of the Outer Banks best kept secrets among the small motels in the area.They are a family owned facility that provides a year round indoor swimming pool,a spa,and also a outdoor pool. 
The owners live on the premises and pay careful attention to it.They are in the middle of Nags Head,and Kill Devil Hills restaurants,and have plenty of beach access for you,if you just want to relax.They have nineteen rooms that have double,or king size beds,and eleven efficiencies,that sleep up to four people.They have full kitchens,which are a big plus.They also have a wheelchair accessible room.
