Outer Banks NC ,A Great Place To Spend Your Vacation

Outer Banks NC Sunrise

Outer Banks NC is a world unto itself. It is made up of islands linked to the rest of civilization only by a few bridges and ferrys.

This fact lends a separatist character to the Outer Banks, with residents who are proud to have excaped the trappings of the mainland and vacationers who come here to put aside the city life.

You know that days go by in the describable ream of"island time"and you wonder where they went. When we get ready to go,it feels like we just got there.

Some never leave.I was passing time one day on the Nags Head Pier,(in between catching fish)to a man that had come to vacation 25 years before, and loved it so much,he moved to the Outer Banks.I think one of his loves was fishing, for every evening he was on the Nags Head Pier.

We also have a good friend that was a farmer, and a carpenter. He and his wife spent about a month out of every year in Outer Banks NC,and she said that he could have stayed there permanently.

When you enter the beach scene, suddenly its perfectly acceptable to go barefoot all day,to wear your bathing suit to the grocery store,to bury up to your neck in sand.

To spend hours on the porch of your rental house staring at the ocean,or just watching the sunset.Try some of the above in your hometown and you would probably be looked upon as"out of your tree".

Outer Banks NC is a chain of several islands,Roanoke,Colington,Bodie,Hatteras, and the most remote,Ocracoke.Below is what draws us to Outer Banks NC.

The 35,000 or so,year round residents of the Outer Banks, host millions of visitors a year. They have to give me and you,a place to stay, food to eat and entertain us.I think they do a pretty good job, what do you think?

It's a great place to take your vacation, what with affordable housing(you can go with big houses or some of the big hotels,or if your budget doesn't call for it,just stay at a small motel, you won't be disappointed).

And there are retail stores offering almost everything, and abundance of fine restaurants, arts, and entertainment, and medical care is close by.Recreational opportunities are all up and down the Outer Banks.

Years ago, when we went to the Outer Banks,we would make for sure we had packed everything we needed. Now with so many stores(wally world)I just say to my "Lovely Wife"We will buy what we forgot when we arrive there. But out of everything that draws us to Outer Banks NC,remember that the pluse of life,on these barrier islands is still set by"wind and water".

Unlike its sister beach"Myrtle",what so many people like about the Outer Banks is they have so many miles of undeveloped land, thanks to the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, which encompasses more than 75 miles of rugged, undeveloped beaches, dunes, marches, and flatlands.

On top of that they have three national wildlife refuges to farther protect Outer Banks NC from development.

With all of the above, the Outer Banks offers the most extraordinary,of what island life has to offer. You can find your lodging in the place you would like, the size that you want to stay in.You can roam beaches in the Outer Banks that literaly have no people on them or you can drive 30 minites and be in the exciting atmosphere of many people, fine resturants, and exciting places to shop. You have the best of everything on a vacation to the Outer Banks.

When you get there, have fun and be careful.
