There are more new shops to be found.I saw several more last year,when we went to the Aquarium.Up and down the beach you will find shops that have the usual souvenirs,such as sea shells.(That used to be a favorite thing we did,look for shells on the beach). You can find inexpensive t-shirts and light houses of every form imaginable.We love to prowl the Ben Franklin store. A great many boutiques offer one-of-a-kind gifts.
fine arts,and crafts.Little ones love the stores filled with aisles of colorful souvenirs.One of the best stores to take them is everything for a dollar. Jumping back,Manteo shopping has changed in the last few years,and now its a great blend of antiques shops,art,and craft galleries,and high end shops.Many people cross the bridge just to shop. Also if you are staying in or around Nags Head,run on down to Ocracoke,and ride the ferry(that is great in itself)Shopping is wonderful,with shops all over the village.People walk or bike and stop in the shops. The shops are not upscale.they are down home,and the good news is they are unique and affordable.And don,t forget when you are walking,find a ice cream shop. And if your shopping pursuits are more for indulgence(like mine)you will find plenty of food stores to.So for now,happy Outer Banks Shopping.
