Do you Love To Shop Outer Banks like we do?
"Shop Outer Banks"As I stated on the home page, shopping takes up part of our Outer Banks vacation. We shop at different places, one day in Manteo, then the next we may go to Corolla, but to keep from jumping around to much, I will start in Corolla, a few miles north of Duck. Now we have not been Outer Banks shopping in every shop there. I would have worn my seat cover out from getting in, and out so much. But to name a few, that you may be interested in.They offer convenient and novel shopping. Located on Corolla Villiage Road in "Corolla,"Spry Creek Dry goods is a fun and funky shop. As soon as you walk inside, you may think you're in Tuscany, or the Mediterranean. Bright yellow walls are a perfect backdrop for the Spanish, Mexican, and Portuguese pottery, and ceramics they have.
Here is a small store to brouse.
You will delight in the Jewelry, artwork, and decoys produced by the local artisans. Mouth-blown glassware from Mexico, pampering soaps, linen sprays, and beautiful stained-glass pieces, round out their fantastic offerings. Just a question. Have you ever watched mouth blown glassware made in to angels and other pieces of art? I have watched this, and it is just amazing what these guys can create. To go shop Outer Banks is a lot of fun. Here is another place that you may want to remember, if you love to read, (my wife does). They are the Island Bookstore, located where Callie Parkers old General Store was. And they are on Corolla Village road to. They have many years of book selling in Corolla, best sellers are discounted, and books are available on just about any subject matter that you can think of.
On the same road is the Light Keeper,s Wife. This is one for you ladies (men tag along, if you know whats good for you). This boutique is a "womens delight", with dresses, sportswear, and hip clothing by Juicy Couture, Free People, and Seven Jeans (I think). They also have jewelry, hats, bags, and purses, and scarves round out all of the "good stuff".
Here is where I like to shop.Try Tim Buck 11 Shopping Village, on Sunset Boulevard, in Corolla. I like to shop Outer Banks in these establishments. Then you can spread out if you want to, men stores (food), and women stores. They have about 60 shops and restaurants. Your whole family can spend a day here, with everyone happily entertained. If you have kids (or grandkids, we do) you can drop them off at the Corolla Raceway for go-karting, and bumper boating, or even for miniature golf. Also the children can have kite flying lessons and Kitty Hawk Sports offers parasailing, kayaking, jetsking, and lots more. See, I told you, something for everyone. When everyone gets tired, you can meet at one of the many restaurants, for a snack, or a meal. There is also a recreation area, and a playground. Also, take the kids to Michael,s gems and glass. They will love it. They offer rocks, and minerals, fossils, marbles, and other toys, plus lots of sterling silver jewelry. When you shop Outer Banks don't forget Wings, below. They have a lot of "cheap" idems for the little ones. Most don't care if something doesn't cost much, until they reach 8 or 9, then look out.
Coming to shop Outer Banks wouldn't be complete, if we did not browse every shop there.
We always go to Mallow Mall, its around Nags Head. It is composed of many stores. One we love is Wilsons Leather house. They have fantastic deals on their leather goods. Some leather have discounts of fifty percent. My Daughter loves this place. Then again she loves any place to shop. Another one in that Mall is Gaps. I feel out of place for there are lots more women then men in there. But it is a great store. We some times buy our Grandson some school clothes. They have many name brand Jeans. And then there is Bass Shoe Store. They have some great shoes. I buy a pair of loafers about every year. They wear great. My Grandson laughs at them, says they are out of style. Oh well, what does he know. You will find even more places to shop on the next page, such as in Manteo, on Roanoke Island. One thing is for sure, you and I, will not run out of shops to visit when we shop Outer Banks. "have fun"
